Active Membership

The following categories of persons who are Primary Members are eligible to be Active Members:

1. Members of the Panchayat, Zila Parishads, District Councils, Block Development Committees, Notified Area Committees, Town Area Committees, Municipal Corporations, other local bodies, State Legislatures and Parliament.
2. Those who are actively connected with such organizations as are recognized for the purpose by the National Committee.
3. Any other person approved by the President of the Party.
4. A primary member, after enrolling a minimum of 20 Primary Members triennially.
5. Every Member shall pay Rs 100/- towards the fee for registration as an Active Member.
6. Every Active Member shall make a declaration in form as prescribed by National Committee under his/her signature and fulfill the conditions mentioned therein.
7. No person shall be considered for election on party ticket to the Parliament, State Legislatures and/or Local Bodies unless he/she is an Active Member.
8. Permanent Register of Active Members shall be maintained by the Block/District Executive Committee. A copy of the permanent Register duly certified by the Block/ District Executive Committee shall be made available to the State Executive Committee. The District/Block Executive Committees may issue identity cards with photographs of the members pasted on the cards under the signature of the concerned District/Block President.
9. The State Executive Committee shall supply a copy of the permanent Register of Active Members within their jurisdiction to the office of the National Committee and keep it informed of any changes there in from time to time; or as may be notified by the President.
10. The Register shall contain the full name, occupation, place of residence with the name of polling station and date of enrolment of every member.
11. Membership shall cease by death, resignation, removal, nonpayment of contribution and non-renewal of membership, taking membership of any other party, insanity and insolvency.
